HIV Case Management

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Cases

HIV case management is offered to anyone diagnosed with HIV infection or acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Services, offered free of charge, include, but are not limited to:

  • Chronic illness management, education, and emotional support
  • Individualized plan of care
  • Medical referral and monitoring
  • Referral for spiritual and mental health
  • Access to HIV medications
  • Insurance premium assistance
  • HIV related co-pay assistance for ambulatory care

Funds are available through the Ryan White federally funded program and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to assist with medications, housing, utilities insurance premiums, and medical copays. The extent of assistance available is dependent on specific income guidelines.

People Establishing AIDS/HIV/STD Care & Education (P.E.A.C.E.)

P.E.A.C.E. is a regional group dedicated to planning ways to decrease new infections of sexually transmitted infections (STI), including HIV/AIDS. The group also provides support to those who have been infected or affected by a STI within a 16-county area of Northwest Missouri.

The P.E.A.C.E. group holds monthly meetings, generally the second Tuesday of each month and a light meal is provided. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in promoting sexual health and is comprised of individuals representing service agencies, as well as the community at-large.
