Detective Al Wisneski

Al Wisneski, 54 years old, died as a result of a stroke on September 16, 1961. Detective Wisneski, along with Detectives George Newgent, T.E. Nelson and Fred Miller, raided a dice game on the evening of September 15, 1961. The raid resulted in six persons being arrested for illegal gambling. During the course of the raid, Detective Wisneski suffered a stroke and was rushed to Sisters Hospital by the St. Joseph ambulance service. Detective Wisneski died exactly 15 years after being appointed a detective. Detective Wisneski became a class “A” patrolman on November 18, 1938 and was granted a leave of absence on December 5, 1942 to serve in the United States Army Air Corps. Detective Wisneski served in New Guinea and after three years of military service returned to the department on November 25, 1945. He was promoted to Sergeant on May 1, 1946 and was appointed a detective on September 16, 1946. Detective Wisneski was survived by a wife.
