In an effort to help provide information and answers to the public regarding city issues surrounding COVID-19, the city of St. Joseph has established a centralized phone number for residents to call. The phone number for the call center is 271-4613 and will be answered Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, subject to call volume and events occurring related to COVID-19. As time and events evolve and develop, the hours may change.

The department also ensures public health preparedness and establishes the capacity to respond effectively to public health threats and other emergencies through its emergency planning and preparedness division. Efforts focus on assessment and planning, surveillance and epidemiological capacity, laboratory capacity, communications, information technology, risk communication, education and training.
