The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Awareness Program is located at Patee Market Health Center, 904 S 10th Street, in St. Joseph, Missouri. The program offers free lead screenings for children up to six years of age, available by appointment. Nursing case management services are available, in-clinic, to children that have been identified as having elevated blood-lead levels. The nursing case manager provides one-on-one and community education about the dangers of lead poisoning, how to prevent it and how to clean up a lead-contaminated environment.
Educational programs about lead poisoning prevention and awareness are offered by appointment for children’s groups, daycare facilities, schools, parent/community groups and other professionals.
Program hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please call 816-271-4725 with any questions regarding lead screenings, case management or educational opportunities.
